Farmers' Market Preparation Training: Online produce safety trainings (listed below and available at https://www.ksre.k-state.edu/foodsafety/produce/guidance/index.html#farmers-markets . Become market ready and eligible by viewing "Food Safety at Farmers Markets" , "Introduction to Produce Safety" and "Missouri Produce Safety". These videos are free of cost and satisfies Market Place Produce Safety requirements.
There are three ways to fulfill produce safety requirements: 1) Attendance and completion of FSMA training. 2) Attendance and completion GAP training. 3) Viewing and completing the market place view list from K-State and MU Extension.
Participation in EBT/SNAP transactions is not a requirement for market vendors. But is highly recommended and is another great option to further improve and increase food accessibility in local communities. * In support of the city of Dixon's First Fridays there will be a Friday market held on the first week of each month from 4 pm - 8pm. First Fridays are days that are expected to have more market attendees than usual as it is a community wide event.
